Be careful when you are in Amazon’s gluten free foods area. I was looking for gluten free oats and went into a section that said “more gluten free food” and it took me to a “grocery” area that had things besides gluten free food. I did not realize it took me out of the gluten free area and ordered Bob’s Red Mill Oats. When I received them and opened the box, I realized they were not gluten free. Since it will cost me even MORE money to send back, I am donating them to a rescue mission for the poor but I am very upset at the money I spent and not getting gluten free oats. Be advised, always check each page you go to when looking for gluten free food as changing from one page to another can trick you into buying something you can’t eat. Very disappointed with Amazon.

I am not a big fan of oatmeal. This is the exception. I do like the thick wholesome taste of this style. Try it with berries and honey!

As chewy as steel-cut oats, but the texture is better and the taste is even “nuttier.” (If I had known how good these were, I would have bought more of these than the steel cut.) The cooking time is in between that of steel-cut and old fashioned oats. Just throw them into boiling water, cover the pot, and shut off the heat and let them sit for twenty minutes and you’ve got yourself a perfectly cooked serving of oatmeal. This is my new favorite.

I usually hate oatmeal, but I love Bob’s Red Mill Extra Thick Oatmeal. Unlike other oatmeals which become lumpy when microwaved, Bob’s Red Mill Extra thick Oatmeal cooks to a creamy texture and has a delicate nutty flavor. The regular oatmeal is the same way, but I prefer the extra thick because it is more satisfying.
